Anthony Puhuyesva
Anthony Puhuyesva is an artist from the Hopi Tribe from the Village of Kykotsmovi in Northeastern Arizona. He served in the U.S. Military straight out of High School and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving in the Army. Art (drawing and painting) helped him during the rough times while serving overseas and with his PTSD after coming home from his deployments.
His love for art stems from growing up around family members and his love for his Hopi culture. Most of his artwork is inspired by his Hopi culture with a little contemporary twist.
After serving in the military, Anthony found his way back home where he began to explore different mediums in Art and eventually got into digital artwork where he creates designs for apparel. Although this is his main medium now, he still loves to paint, draw and carve.
Anthony hopes that his artwork can bring a smile to everyone and bring a little knowledge to those that may not be too familiar with Hopi culture. He is happy he can share his artwork with everyone!!
